Our story

When I, Zoë Foster, first transitioned to wearing my natural hair in 2018, I started wearing headwraps as an accessory to embrace my natural hair. I quickly realised, like many others, that I could never leave them on for longer than a couple of hours without them slipping off or feeling too heavy on my head.

The project of Kolinga was born in 2020 during a summer holiday with my mother. This is when my idea of crafting headwraps using a unique attachment system appeared, the concept was to create a lightweight headwrap using a blend of fabrics and a tying system that would allow it to stay on the head.

We spent weeks figuring out the perfect measurements and amount of fabric needed to bring the idea to life.

We understand the importance of a headwrap that stays put throughout the day, which is why we have crafted our designs with a blend of fabrics. The combination of these fabrics ensures a secure fit that won't slip or slide, giving you the confidence to rock your headwrap with ease.

For those who prefer a more traditional look, we incorporated cotton into our head wraps. Cotton offers a comfortable and breathable feel against the skin, making it ideal for everyday wear. With its soft texture and ability to absorb moisture, cotton provides a classic and timeless appeal that complements a wide range of outfits.

For those seeking a lightweight and airy feel, we offer head wraps crafted with silk. Silk adds a touch of elegance and glamour to your look, while its smooth and silky texture creates a luxurious feel. The lightweight nature of silk allows for effortless draping and styling, making it a perfect choice for those who want a head wrap that feels weightless and comfortable.

Every design is always produced in limited quantity and never re-stocked making them unique and special just as you are.
